- First, check the existing drive for jumpers. Most, but not all, IDE
- drives need to be told that it is a host drive and there is a slave
- attached. Some don't need this information, so no jumpers usually means
- that this is the case.

- With your new drive, it is _vital_ to put it into slave mode. This is the
- only way you can have the two drives on the same cable. I think I know
- the Segate 830Mb drive you have, and the jumper settings are on the front
- of it. Select the AT host, not the ATA host. You won't break anything if
- you mess up, though.

- Also, make sure that the A1200 PSU has enough beef to run the 830Mb
- drive. We have kill a few PSU's before we realised what shit the standard
- PSU was.
